Magic The Gathering 2013 Release date set
This news completely passed me by, as this was apparently announced very early January, yet when I read about it earlier today I had heard not a peep about this.  Anyway, Magic the Gathering's core set for 2013 has a release date of July 13th 2012, with launch events occurring from that day right into the beginning of August.
Nothing will be booted out of Standard play when the set releases, but both Core 2012 and Scars of Mirrodin will be out of Standard format when the first expansion after the release of 2013, Hook, is released.
I have had two brief affairs with MTG, and I think it is a fantastic game; my only problem is that it is such a blackhole for you money, and I hate the idea that cards can only be used in proper tournament play for a year before they are consigned to specialist rules and Vintage; but that's a rant for another time.

Assassin's Creed 3 to be set during American Revolution?
The first Assassin's Creed game is set in the Middle East during the crusades, while the last three (not counting portables) have taken place in Renaissance Europe and Turkey; and with the next game supposedly being Assassin's Creed '3', there is much debate and rumour about the next setting, and  Ubergizmo seem to think the next game will be set during the American Revolution.  They do not name their source (figures), but I'll take a punt and believe them for now.
If set during this time you can probably expect more gunplay to be involved, possibly even with sniper sections - did they have sharpshooters back then?  I do not know a lot about this time period, being from the U.K. and all, but I am pretty curious what would come from a game set in this period, so I'm not disheartened in the least that this is potentially the next era for stabby-stabs.

Dragon Age anime has a new trailer
I was vaguely aware that there was a Dragon Age cartoon/anime in the works, but had not seen nor heard anything about it for a long while.  The i stumbled across the following trailer/behind the scenes interview:
It looks kinda ok!  Providing the animation isn't finished in that video it looks like it could be pretty cool.  The characters look good, the scenery is really good, and the dragon on the battlements is awesome!  I'm going to be keeping a closer eye on this project in the future.
Oh yeah, and the source of this information casually let slip that the next Dragon Age game will let you play as a Dragon!  Where's that pre-order button.......
