Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition - Have it Your Way

Today The New York Times announced that Wizards will be bringing Dungeons and Dragons into a new age yet again with a 5th edition rules set and they want your help.

The release of 4th edition DND was an interesting one, some people loved and it and others hated it. Personally I think it was a great move forward. I mean yes there are problems, ok a lot of problems but there was also a lot that worked. The focus was on balance, which I think they achieved. Each character always had something to do unlike in older editions where certain classes would become pointless pretty quickly. Though this balancing brought a lot of new problems with it.

So now with the announcement of a new edition in the works we are all wondering what type of approach they will be taking with it. Essentials saw the people at Wizard attempt to bring some old school charm back into DND, will they continue along that path or take a completely new approach? Well Mike Mearls explains what will be happening over the next few months here, and it seems they want to make 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons the fans edition.

Starting in spring Wizards will be hosting open play testing of new products in order to get consumer feedback and mold the game around what the players want rather than what the Wizard think tank people think we want. Personally I'm pretty excited, I was very apprehensive about there being a new edition but I have faith in the players and Wizards that together we can make something worthy of the Dungeons and Dragons name.

I would like to see more of a focus on roleplaying and a faster and streamlined combat system.
What do you guys want from the new edition of DND?
