Google to join SOPA Protest
Google will be joining Wikipedia, Reddit and other influential companies in protest against SOPA by placing a link on their home page. Google often change their logo due to popular and cultural events so it's no surprise that whatever Google has planned it will be taken the place of their usual logo.

"Like many businesses, entrepreneurs and web users, we oppose these bills because there are smart, targeted ways to shut down foreign rogue websites without asking American companies to censor the Internet," a Google spokeswoman said. "So tomorrow we will be joining many other tech companies to highlight this issue on our US home page."

This is a huge step towards stopping SOPA for good, but none of the protests will make as big of an impact than that of Wikipedia who will be going offline for an entire day to protest the act. Hopefully these efforts will have the desired effect and raise a lot of awareness on this subject.

Modern Warfare 3 Cheaters awarded 5000 day bans
Some Modern Warfare 3 cheaters recently found themselves with messages saying their respective accounts had been banned for 5000 days for doing "something bad", according to Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling.  So if you have found yourself with one of these, it is not a joke, you have been a jerk and now cannot play until 2025.  Maybe by then these people will have learned to play nice.

Halo 4 Announcements coming next week
Halo 4 is currently in development with 343 Studios but, though announced at E3 last year, little has been heard about the new trilogy of games that is supposedly coming.  But that will all change as of next week, when details about "characters and vehicles" will be announced at the London Toy Fair on January 24th.  This may not sound like much, but it is something, though i expect there will be much more to see and hear at this year's E3.

New Joss Whedon Film Starts Shooting Next Month
With Avengers out in May, Cabin in the Woods finally getting a release, and his budget Much Ado About Nothing also hanging around, it was already a busy year for Joss Whedon and his fans, but now there appears to be yet another film coming from the geek icon.
It is called In Your Eyes and is a supernatural romance film.  It, like Much Ado... will be produced through Whedon's Bellwether production company, though not much else is known at this moment, though is described by Deadline as "a metaphysical love story about two seemingly polar opposites who are deeply connected in ways neither could have ever imagined.".
We believe shooting begins next month as Abigail Spencer, most recently seen in Cowboys and Aliens, said she was signed onto the next Whedon film, which begins shooting "next month".  It sounds interesting, and with Whedon at the helm I'm sure we'll get something we should be looking forward to.

'Avengers Vs. X-Men' Issue One cover revealed
In April the latest Marvel Mega-event, Avengers Vs. X-Men, begins and promises to throw a whole bunch of awesome match-ups our way.  The event will run for 12 issues and features writing from superstar plot-masters Jason Aaron, Brian Michael Bendis, Ed Brubaker, Matt Fraction and Jonathan Hickman; and art from the awesome illustrators John Romita Junior, Adam Kubert and Olivier Coipel.
The first cover was recently revealed and can be seen below.  I really hope this event blows away the cobwebs of Fear Itself, as that event started off reasonably well, but got underwhelming pretty quickly.
