Pixel Punk Predicts: WWE Royal Rumble 2012

Welcome to a new feature written by me, Pixel Punk, in which I will post up my predictions for this evening's Royal Rumble pay-per-view, with a view to posting predictions for later PPV's throughout the year.

There aren't many matches announced for the card before the actual rumble, but regardless here's my predictions:

John Cena vs Kane
This is basically a feud to keep Cena busy until his showdown with The Rock at Wrestlemania, so don't expect him to be booked to lose or look weak. However, due to Kane trying to convince Cena to 'embrace the hate' then I most definitely see this one ending in a disqualification or count out.
Prediction: Kane gets the win via DQ

Big Show vs Mark Henry vs Daniel Bryan (cage match)
The triple threat cage match for the World Heavyweight title isn't going to be pretty, especially with two of the biggest guys in the company occupying the ring. Make no mistake, Daniel Bryan won't be losing his title tonight. The two giants will be knocking lumps out of each other so that Bryan can get a sneaky win, probably by escaping the cage.
Prediction: Bryan retains his championship via escaping the cage

CM Punk vs Dolph Ziggler (Special Referee - John Laurinatis)
With Dolph having beat Punk 3 or 4 times within the last month we can use the age old formula of 'get beat up on TV, win on PPV'. So despite the special ref vowing to screw Punk out of his title, it isn't going to happen. I predict some sort of accident knocking the ref out (or intentional on Punk's part), which leads to a normal referee jumping in, or a 'Legend' like Mick Foley taking over the duties.
Prediction: Punk retains the title despite some shady officiating

The 30 Man Royal Rumble
With 30 participants, and so much action going on, this is a hard one to call. For this match I will outline a few picks who I think are the strongest to win, with reasons why.

Randy Orton: He's just back from an injury, and the rumble is being held in his home town of St. Louis. He's the home town favourite, plus he's one of WWE's top guys.

Chris Jericho: Jericho is just back into the company and since returning he's barely spoken and barely wrestled. However, its expected that he will be going into a heated feud with CM Punk, which will probably head into Wrestlemania. Also, the one time he has spoken, he said this Sunday's Rumble would be the end of the world as we know it (or the beginning of it anyway). So expect something big to happen from him regardless of if he wins or not.

The Miz: The Miz has been announced as the number one entrant after losing to former tag partner R-Truth on Raw this past Monday. This is viewed as the unlucky spot, although there have been just as many winner's from the 1st entrant as there have from the final 30th spot. Another reason not to count Miz out would be that any time he dissolves a tag partnership, he seems to get a slight push back up the card. He's also a very hard working guy behind the scenes with his public appearances just like John Cena is.

Those are my three top picks to win the Rumble. Feel free to let me know if you agree or disagree with any of my choices by commenting below.

Hope you enjoy the Rumble!
