The Infinite Stream is where we post about items that are news-worthy but not necessarily require their own full article.  Check after the jump for news from 30/01/2012!

No New Xbox
Well not this year any way. Cedrick Delmas, the marketing director of Microsoft France told the French website Le Point  that the life cycle of the Xbox 360 is by no means complete.
He said it plain and simple: "What is certain is that there will be nothing new in 2012."  He continued: "We are not here to deal with Nintendo and they are not there to fight against other manufacturers. Nintendo has placed itself in a different cycle, they advance at their own pace, successfully as we have seen with the Wii, and now it is their turn to present their innovation."
Personally I see this as a good thing, we certainly don't need another console just yet. I think Microsoft should wait until a larger technology leap can be achieved and introduce something new.
Though with that said, I still imagine Microsoft will still have some kind of reveal this year, there have been too many rumors surrounding the so called 'Xbox 720' for none of it to be true.

Joe Madureira would love to do a Legend of Zelda comic
Joe Madureira is the creative director of Darksiders and its, currently in development, sequel Darksiders 2, and has recently taken artwork duties for the newly-started Marvel series Avenging Spider-Man. He is famous for his over-the-top artwork,  blending western and Japanese art-styles into iconic images in both the comic book and videogame industries; and in a recent interview with ComputerAndVideogames he revealed that one franchise he would lover to work on is Nintendo's Legend of Zelda.
Unfortunately this quote was but a tease as nothing else was said on the matter, reducing any chances that such a comic could come into development any time soon - though if the right people hear about it, surely someone could get some wheels in motion?
Madureira did reveal though, that a Darksiders comic is in development and could be coming soon - that's something right?

Microsoft shuts down Halo 4 beta scam
A phishing site located at Halo4beta.net (not linked to for obvious reasons) has been scamming Halo fans out of their personal details, promising them early access to a Halo 4 beta.  This caught the attention of 343 Industries (developer of Halo 4) and Microsoft, who both know this website to be a fake, with Microsoft even going so far as to filing a complaint with the National Arbitration Forum to try get the domain name passed into their ownership.
The site has since gone down, but internet users should still be vigilant towards any offers of early access to betas of any game, and do some investigation if you are ever suspicious of a website's intentions.

Wii U has developed massively since E3 2011
The reveal of the Wii U at last year's E3 event caused a resounding "Um...Ok" from the majority of the gaming community, as its features seemed cool enough (Tablet controller; vastly improved on the processing and graphical 'power' scales) but didn't really seem all that necessary/surprising on a console.  Well, according to Yoshinori Ono, producer of Street Fighter X Tekken, revealed that the Wii U has come a long way since its E3 appearance last year, but to say any more would risk "Nintendo assassins" coming after him.
It seems a cliche to say, but for the past 10 years Nintendo has been surprising us with both its handhelds and its consoles, and has been essentially printing its own money in that time, so I suppose we should take this quote/interview as evidence that such an occurrence is likely to happen again with the Wii U - and I really hope so...
