Lionhead website has gained a countdown timer
![]() |
But what does it mean? |
A new-look website has been promised, but the tantalising "Who knows what other surprises are coming..." implies an announcement will be made at the same time.

I personally never got round to playing Fable 3, so the prospect of another game in that particular series hasn't got me excited; but with legendary innovator Peter Molyneux around, the unexpected should be expected...

Beamdog will be making Baldur's Gate announcement "soon"
In what has all the hallmarks of an internet-based Augmented Reality Game, secret messages have been found in the page source of BaldursGate.com :

<!-- For years, I clung to the memory of it. Then the memory of the memory. -->
<!-- And then... it returned. Better than it was before. -->
<!-- Pore over the tapestries and works of art hanging from our walls if you wish, Child of Bhaal... perhaps you will find a clue. But patience, ah... patience would reveal it all. -->
"Perhaps you will find a clue" eh? "Patience would reveal it all" huh? Seems like an invitation to do some delving into Baldur's Gate websites code for hints. Pop to it then; I'll wait here...
Trent Oster, former Bioware designer and founder of the Beamdog studio, has admitted that there will be a Baldur's Gate announcment "soon", and tells that it will have nothing to do with the upcoming Steam release of Baldur's Gate 2. This narrowing down pretty much tells us to expect a HD remake of one of the games (presumably the original), or an entirely new entry to the series. Either way, expect more from this apparent ARG, or Bioware themselves if I have jumped the gun somewhat...
