Skyrim HD Textures and Steam Workshop
So the Skyrim Creation Kit is finally here so expect some big and exciting changes for Skyrim coming soon! With its release, Skyrim support on Steam Workshop is now available. It allows you to search for mods and add them to your game right from Steam.

The workshops selection of mods is pretty limited at the moment, missing many of the most popular mods - many of which we have posted about right here on this blog. Hopefully it will prove to be a great resource, however for now at least I will be sticking with SkyrimNexus and their fantastic Mod Manager especially since Steam doesn't offer any kind of mod management other than the data file selection within Skyrim. If your interested in making you own mods then this is a great resource to get you started.

Bethesda also released a HD Texture pack for the game, I have only tested it for a short time, but it does seem to make a lot of improvements. It wont make a massive difference as the game already looked pretty amazing but its a nice enhancement for those of us who can handle the extra processing power needed to run it. Here is a comparison:

Mass Effect coming to iOS
EA recently announced that a Mass Effect game is coming to iOS devices in the form of Mass Effect Infiltrator. It is coming from the Iron Monkey Studios, the guys that brought us the Dead Space iOS game.

Infiltrator isn't being marketed as a stand-alone game but a companion to the main game. Your actions in Infiltrator will effect Mass Effects 3 Galaxy at War mode. This is good news for you apple users out there, but if you have managed to have a life without everyone's favorite corporate fruit you will struggle to get the absolute complete experience.

Mass Effect 3 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is due to hit shelves in the US on March 6 and Europe on March 9.

The Wolverine gets a release date

The Wolverine probably should have been hitting the big screen this summer but with original director Darren Afronsky (Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream) quitting and the Japan tragedy last year (the film was going to partly filmed in Japan) the movie was put on hold, but it seems it is now back on track with a release date of July 26th 2013.

The new director is James Mangold (Knight and Day, 3:10 to Yuma), which personally seems like a poor replacement for Afronsky, but I will keep my hopes up that he will be able to make a decent Wolverine movie that doesn't butcher his story much like a certain other origin movie.

The Bourne Legacy Trailer
The trailer for the new Bourne film was released recently and I must say I am not impressed. I cant seem to find a copy of the trailer which I can put on here but you can click here to check it out.

The plot looks to differ from the book that it is based on in that it focuses on a new agent rather than Bourne (?). I believe this is because Matt Damon has said he would only return to the franchise if Paul Greengrass - the director of the last two films - returns. Instead this film is directed by Tony Gilroy (Michael Clayton, Duplicity).

This film stars Jeremy Renner as a new rogue agent. From the trailer it looks like they are trying to make Renner's character even more badass than Bourne was by going way over the top. When a body-less voice says "Jason Bourne was just the tip of the iceberg" I right away wanted to stop watching. I wont bitch too much about this here but needless to say, I am not looking forward to this film.

The Bourne Legacy is due to hit cinema August 3rd 2012.
