Double Fine Adventure Kickstarter nearly $2 million & new info
Now, having raised the largest total ever through Kickstarter donations, the Double Fine Adventure will hit $2 million over the weekend, with no signs of plateauing - that's 5 times the original target!
Many people were asking just what Double Fine and 2 Player Productions would be doing with all the extra money and Tim Schafer has obliged the masses and confirmed what will be added to the production via a video update:
So that's PC, Mac and Linux versions; iOS and certain Android versions; full English voice acting and subtitles for French, Italian, German and Spanish.  The video also confirms that there will be beta access through Steam for everyone that has donated.
The game was originally slated for an October release, but with these new additions I'm sure it will take longer than that now and I expect another update to confirm this sooner or later.

Grand Theft Auto 5 details coming at E3
Rockstar have announced that new details about Grand Theft Auto 5 in "a few month's time", which seems pretty vague (and it is), but many people take this as confirmation that we will be seeing the game at this Summer's E3 event.
Max Payne 3 is due for a May release and it makes sense that Rockstar would not want to overshadow this game with any GTA info, so the timing works out pretty well that the developer/publisher can reveal more about their flagship series at the convention.
Grand Theft Auto 5 has nothing even resembling a release date, though many industry experts believe a Christmas 2012 release is likely.

Assassin's Creed 3 out 30th of October
There are few major game franchises that you would put money on releasing a 'new' game year after year: Call of Duty is, obviously, one and Assassin's Creed is the other, and while one has (arguably) been stagnating in mediocrity for the last couple of editions, the Assassin's Creed games have continued to expand and innovate from one game to the next.
Assassin's Creed: Revelations tied many of the loose strings of the series together, but the new game will introduce a new protagonist from the past who will go around doing the stabby-stabbys.
I have previously stated that the new game could be set during the American Revolution, while other settings, such as Ancient Egypt, have also been making the rumour-rounds.  But whatever the time period, it's going to be nice to be somewhere other than crusade/renaissance Europe!
