DC Comics to publish 'Watchmen' prequels in the summer!
This column is normally for stories that do not need an article all for themselves, but I'm making an exception here because I'm really excited about this!
DC Comics today revealed the long-rumoured Watchmen prequel comics do indeed exist, and will be coming this summer in 35 weekly installments across seven limited series arcs and one epilogue issue tying the whole event together.  Contributors include Brian Azzarello, J. Michael Straczynski, Lee Bermejo, Jae Lee and many others covering stories about the main players of the original Watchmen series - Rorschach, The Comedian, Dr. Manhattan etc.
I will be doing a fuller write-up on this story later in the week, so watch out for that!

No Spider-Man cameo in Avengers movie after all
Last night Joss Whedon, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hiddlestone and Clark Gregg gathered around their computers to answer questions posed to them about the upcoming Avengers movie.  One question on everyone's lips was about the supposed rumour of Spider-Man appearing in the film via cameo - Joss cleared this up once and for all saying "There is no Spider-Man cameo...But the Avengers do turn off the dark" dispelling the rumour while referencing the Spider-Man broadway musical.
So that's that then I guess....unless he was lying! Dun dun duuuuuun!

Namor possible villain in Iron Man 3
In other Marvel-movie news, there is a rumour making its way around the internet that everyone's favourite mutant/Atlantean-Human Sub-Mariner Namor will be appearing in Iron Man 3, and is possibly going to be the villain.
This has come about due to Iron Man 3 booked to be filmed partly in Wilmington, North Carolina, a coastal town with a studio with a massive water-tank used for special effects.  This would normally be quite a leap of an assumption, but clues in Iron Man 2, such as numerous mentions of 'Oracle', a company run by Namor, a newspaper clipping mentioning Atlantis, and a map belonging to Nick Fury with a marker pretty close to where Atlantis is located in the Marvel U *deep breath* all point to Namor being in Marvel's minds with regards to their movies, so why not Iron Man 3?
I'm sure someone will know soon enough, possibly when Michael Phelps or Ian Thorpe are cast or something...
