FullMetal Alchemist: the Sacred Star of Milos Trailer

Where do I begin?

I’ve just seen the trailer for the latest FullMetal Alchemist movie. You had better watch it before we continue ....

Seriously, what the fuck?!

At first I was very excited to see that there was a new FullMetal Alchemist in production but that optimism was soon extinguished.

Can we please stop dicking around with the FullMetal universe? The Conquerer of Shambala was bad enough as it “concluded” the original anime run but I do not get where the Sacred Star of Telos fits in with either of the anime runs or the manga. The manga and the newest anime, FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, concluded in the same place *SPOILERS* with Ed and Al gaining their bodies back, Ed marrying Winry and having kids, Al travels around Xing learning alkahestry and Mustang continues to try and become fuhrer.

After Shambala *SPOILERS* the boys end up in an alternative universe (ours) where science is the driving force behind creation and understanding rather than the alchemy they are used to meaning the boys have to adapt as the alchemy they devoted their lives to no longer works. Also, they were both in their own bodies rather than having Al in his suit of armour.

In the trailer I just saw Ed still had his automail arm and alchemy, this was remedied in both the manga and the Brotherhood anime as Al gave up his soul to return Ed’s natural right arm to him to save his brother life and defeat the principle antagonist only for Ed to give up his alchemy to get AL back, and Al is still a soul trapped in a suit of armour which as I explained above was rectified by all 3 accounts.

So this doesn’t take place after the manga or anime’s, maybe before? Nope, both anime’s and the manga start with Ed and Al losing their bodies, so it’s not a prelude to the main story either.
During the storyline? I highly doubt it. I find it very hard to believe that during the whole story arc they discovered a whole new type of alchemy that involves human transmutation, a big taboo in the FullMetal Alchemist universe, only to never mention it again until this movie.

So, that’s past, present and future where it couldn’t take place of the main storyline, WHERE THE FUCK DOES IT BELONG?!

And last but not least ... Werewolves? Seriously? Alchemy does not work that way!

  1. Dude, think dragon ball Z logic when it comes to movies. I mean anime movies hardly ever tie in with the original plot. Like in the dragon ball gt movie, they talked about baby ( no mention of omega shenron or fusion gogeta ssj4)and pan was an old women ( note that she cannot go ssj) and she had a grandson who could go ssj, and for some reason goku randomly popped up in the story even though he's supposed to be an old man, he's still younger than pan.
