Peter Molyneux to leave Lionhead and Microsoft studios

Just in case you don't know, Peter Molyneux is one of the most famous and well respected game developers in the world, responsible for game series such as Dungeon Keeper, Black&White and, of course, Fable.  Originally plying his trade with Bullfrog studios, for the last decade he has been working with Lionhead, a studio he co-founded, and is also head of Microsoft Studios Europe - but not for much longer it seems!
He today announced to Kotaku that once Fable: The Journey is completed, he will be stepping down from both roles to join a new project (almost certainly videogame related) called '22 Cans'.
Known for his bold ideas and limitless passion for videogames, Molyneux is likely to land on his feet with this new venture, no doubt being quoted about how wildly innovative his new game is going to be, before the year is out.  The same may not be true for Lionhead for whom losing an individual like Peter could be a catalyst for rough times ahead.  Hopefully this won't be the case, and we wish everyone the best!

'Venom' movie in development?

According to '24 Frames', Chronicle director Josh Trank is in talks with Sony to make a Spider-Man spin-off film about Venom, the black, alien symbiote of the comics and (terrible) Spider-Man 3.
Trank is big news in Hollywood at the moment, with Chronicle (great film by the way) making a lot of money on its meager budget, so Sony handing a relative newcomer a (presumably) big budget superhero film could be seen, paradoxically, both a big risk and a no-brainer.
A Venom film has apparently been in the works since before development of the rebooted Amazing Spider-Man film, and a script exists but producers are looking for a new writer.
Personally, I don't think a standalone Venom film would work without it/him being first introduced in a Spider-Man film, and even then only if they went with more of an antihero spin rather than out-and-out villain - like the new comic series is doing.  I don't even know whether I would look forward to a Venom film, especially one handled by Sony, who have such a hit and miss record with superhero films.  I'm pretty sure everyone will wait to act on the potential of this film until after Amazing Spider-Man is out...

New iPad (3) out on March 16th
Mere hours ago, Apple held one of their famous 'events' during which they unveil new technologies and upgrades to their existing products - the iPod, iPhone and iPad have all been announced at similar events.  Expected were announcements on both a new iPad, potentially the iPad '3' or 'HD', and just what the heck AppleTV was going to do - and we got both! Kind of...
A new iPad was revealed, boasting HD imaging - 3.1M pixels - and 4G/LTE wireless connectivity.  Prices begin at $499 (yowza!), and will come in 16, 32 and 64GB flavours.   And as stated in the headline, it is going to be available from March 16th in the US, with versions coming out around the world by the end of the month - no official name yet though it seems..
And for all the buzz surrounding AppleTV, it ended up just being a media browser from all reports - but don't quote me on that, info seems a little scarce on the web, it being pretty fresh, but it does seem their was a widespread "meh" reaction to it.
I personally don't care about all the iGadgets Apple are bringing out, but it seems a lot of people do, so this is kinda big news I guess(?).  I doubt any of us here will be sampling any of this new tech, but it's out there if you want it!
