So with the spectacular finale to The Walking Dead behind us, you may be asking yourself how you're
going to get your Zombie fix until the show's return. Well before you go and
buy a chemistry set and begin work on a zombie inducing virus to sate your need
for brain eating goodness, check out the list below for just a few of the Zombies
related things being released this year.
The Last of Us
Game - PS3
Release date: TBA
The Last of Us is an upcoming Third-Person survival horror
game being developed by Naughty Dog. I'm sure your all familiar with Naughty
Dog, you know those guys who made those little Uncharted games. Not a whole
lot is actually known about it at the moment, though a trailer has been
released introducing the two main characters, Ellie and Joel. Also it seems
like it is not going to be a typical zombie game, choosing to focus on the
Father-Daughter relationship between Joel and Ellie. I'm pretty excited about
this game and I don't even own a PS3.
Resident Evil:
Operation Racoon City
Game - PC, PS3, X-Box
360
Release Date: March
20, 2012
For those of you in the US this game came out today, the rest of us will be getting it
in the next couple of days though so no need to fret. The Resident Evil
franchise has deviated from its survival horror zombie killing beginnings in
recent times but this title at least features actual zombies! Set in Racoon
City somewhere between the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3 the player has the
option of playing either as a member of Umbrella Security Service (USS) or the
United States Special Operations Force. Depending on which side you take you
will be tasked with either covering up Umbrella's mess or exposing it. It
definitely sounds interesting but I don't see myself playing this one, it will
take a lot to get my interested in the Resident Evil series again.
World War Z
Movie
Release Date: TBA
Based on the hugely popular novel of the same name, starring
Brad Pitt, World War Z has the positional
to be AWESOME. Unfortunately though very little is known about the actual
movie, not even having a trailer it could of course disappoint. Never the less
I am excited about this one, say what you will about Brad Pitt, you can't
really deny that he has been in some amazing movies and certainly has the
resources to pick and choose his roles. This
one is definitely gonna be big and possibly similar to The Walking Dead, we will be keeping up to date with it here on InfinityFeed so make sure to come back.
A little bit Zombie
Movies
Release Date: TBA
This is a movie about a guy and a girl who are getting
married, he is a mild mannered kinda guy and she is a high strung bitch. They
have best friends, a guy (a Seann William Scott wannabe) and some girl. They
all go to some cabin, presumably for some pre-wedding celebration. The mild
mannered guy gets bitten by....something and turns into a zombie, and stays
exactly the same, apart from being dead and wanting to eat brains. A zombie
hunter turns up and the high strung bitch still wants to marry zombie Steve (oh
ye, his name is Steve). I learnt all of that from the trailer...no need to
watch the movie itself now. Thankfully, as this looks terrible. But it looks
like a no brainer (see what I did there?..eh?..eh?) Shaun of the Dead taken-too-far
sort of movie, so if you like that kind of thing this may be good for you.
2.8 Hours Later
Event
2.8 Hours Later is
a zombie survival game in real life. You take on the role of a survivor and
with a group of friends you have to get to different locations throughout your
city, following clues given by other survivors (actors) all the while avoiding
the many zombies scattered throughout the streets. I took part in this here in
Leeds last year and loved it. Out of a group of 6 I was 1 of 2 of that survived
the game. The actors were fantastic and the zombies were great, at the very
beginning we were greeted by a ear splitting screech, followed by what was
clearly a zombie bounding towards us, I dived over a wall into a beer garden
full of unsuspecting civilians. 2.8 Hours
Later is happening throughout the year all over the UK, but the only
confirmed dates so far are Glasgow -
28th-30 march and Glasgow - 5th-7th
April.
So the above is just a few of the zombie related things to
be looking forward to in the coming year. Because of the zombie craze at the
moment there is much more, but this is some of the best and should keep your
zombie needs at bay for a little while.
