Google Releasing HUD glasses by the end of the year!
It was reported yesterday by the New York Times that Google are working on and plan to release glasses with a Heads-up Display by the end of the year. Excited?

Apparently the navigation will be dealt with using head tilts to scroll and click, this stirs up a lot of images of people twitching their heads like some junkie detoxing, but apparently it is easy to learn and almost indistinguishable to outside users.

The glasses will use a low-resolution camera to monitor your surroundings and overlay information about what you are looking at. It will achieve this by interfacing with many of Google's current software, such as Latitude, Google Goggles and Google Maps.
The HUD glasses will apparently resemble these!
Though probably bigger, and bulkier and not at all like these!
I have no idea how well this will turn out, just like any new piece of technology its first iteration will certainly suck. Though it is promising to hear that someone is actually working on this, I'm sure many gamers, geeks and plain old ordinary folks have dream't of having your very own HUD over the really world, well at the end of the year you may very well have just that! Personally I will most likely be waiting a few years until the technology is improved

The glasses are estimated to sell for the price of current smart phones, $250 - $600.

Borderlands 2 Launch Date and Trailer

Borderlands 2 is being released on 18th September in the US and the rest of us get it on the 21st and with that announcement a new trailer was released for the game (above).

The trailer does a good job of introducing each of the characters (though I still don't get why you cant create your own) showing each of them have a badass moment. Personally I like the look of the cyborg ninja guy 'Zero' or the magic wielding Maya. It then goes on to show some game play and show off the environments, it looks very similar to the first game, which certainly isn't a bad thing by any means. It then introduces a tiny bit of the story, it seems some guy is bad and has some kind of big...dragon?? and I suppose your the only one(s) who can help.

The biggest thing I took away from this trailer was SPLIT SCREEN this amazing feature is something that, to my great disdain has been dying out in recent games. For me playing a co-op game with a friends who I'm actually in the same room as is infinitely better than sitting alone in my room while my friends sit alone in their rooms playing the same game. Though I think I'm in the minority with that.

Guild Wars 2 Beta Sign-up

That's right folks, the glorious day has finally come that we can sign up for the beta to Guild Wars 2!

After the successful press-beta last week, ArenaNet are now allowing us to sign up for future beta events, but only for the next 48 hours.

All your have to do is go HERE, download a very small program that will collect and submit your DxDiag data, which is just information about your system (presumably they will want to test the game on varying degrees of hardware) and your contact information and your done.

There is currently no specifics as to when the next beta event will be and you of course may not be selected but if you don't sign up you have no chance at all!
